Many Brazilians are destroying the Amazon. Please do not buy Amazon agricultural products, meat, soybean, woodwind and others, or you will go helping this destruction.
Recently found this article from them:
A group of indigenous peoples in northern Brazil, who went into voluntary isolation in the depths of the Amazon rainforest more than 50 years ago, were forced to flee their rainforest lands to escape the invasion of loggers.
Until May, the Metyktire peoples, who lived in the Xingu area of the eastern part of Brazils Amazonian rainforest had no contact with the outside world. The recent exodus forced the 87 remaining Metyktire to walk more than 100 km over five days to find refuge with the indigenous Kayapo community.
Commercial logging is impinging on the some of the remotest areas of Brazils rainforest in the search for the remaining valuable hardwoods. It is having a devastating impact on indigenous communities that wish to remain within the forest, said Simon Counsell, Rainforest Foundation director. The Brazilian authorities should ensure that such communities rights are fully protected.
